Arlene Lavonne Barton, Age 96, of Troy, formerly of Laura, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Village Green Health Campus in Greenville. She was born July 29, 1920 to the late Harry & Mabel (Sharp) Niles in West Milton, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her husband Allen R. Barton and siblings Onilee Harshbarger and Armidine West. She will be missed and remembered by her sons Terry Barton of Greenville and Tom Barton (Brenda Henderson) of Ludlow Falls; daughter Tawni Gettinger of West Milton; grandchildren Billie (Dan) Baker, Kia Adduchio (Matt Cox), Nikki Gettinger (John Beigel), Michelle (Dave) Barton-Moore, and Tab Barton; great grandchildren Nicholas (Emily), Daniel, Anthony, Melina, Delaney and Aidan and brother Harry (Connie) Niles of Centerville. Arlene was a longtime employee of Laura Post Office and formerly worked for Mabel’s Dress Shop. She also was a 1938 Milton-Union High School Graduate and a former member of American Legion Auxiliary Post in Pleasant Hill. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 27 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, West Milton. The family will receive friends from 12-2 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or Laura Christian Church.
