Jerry Alan Spicer, Age 63, of Union, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Miami Valley Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 7, 1953 to Howard W. & Carolyn A. (Bell) Spicer in Mansfield, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his father Howard Spicer. He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife Gail (Grise) Spicer of Englewood; daughter Kristin (Ted) Mergler of Brookville; mother Carolyn Spicer of Englewood; grandchildren Libbi, Mia, Grant, Sadie Mergler; siblings Jim (Cindy) Spicer, Jill (Dan) Burnett, Jo Lynn (Jeff) Fox; in laws Dick (Sue) Grise; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Jerry was an attorney at Snyder, Rakay, and Spicer Law Office. He also was a basketball coach at Northridge, CYO, and JV coach for 12 years at Northmont High School. Jerry also was a softball coach in Phillipsburg, as well as the president of Phillipsburg Girls’ Softball Association, a member of the Phillipsburg Bassmasters Fishing Club, an avid fisherman, golfer and a big fan of all Northmont sports. A memorial service to honor Jerry’s life will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Friday, January 20 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Northmont Education Foundation, 4001 Old Salem Rd, Englewood, OH 45322.
