Joan Edith Potts

Joan Edith Potts, age 89, of Ludlow Falls, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Hospice of Miami County.  She was born January 9, 1935 to John L. Zehringer & Virginia (Protsman) Mitchell in Dayton, Ohio.

She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband Harold William Potts Sr. She will be missed and remembered by her loving children Harold Jr (Linda) Potts of Ludlow Falls, Dan (Carolyn) Potts of Tipp City, Kevin (Diane) Potts of Dayton, Dave Potts of Ludlow Falls, and Christine Potts of Ludlow Falls; 6 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; siblings Mary Zehringer of Ludlow Falls, Carol Nichols of Ludlow Falls, and Gary Floyd of Dayton.

Joan was a 1953 Roosevelt High School graduate and worked as a cashier for Mr. Deal’s in West Milton. She was a member of the Sunshine Gals #41 Grandmothers Club and past state president of the United Grandmothers of the United States, Inc. Joan also was a past state Grandmother of the year, charter member of the Eagles Aerie #3621 as well as a second Madam President of the Eagles Aerie #3621.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, West Milton. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, April 9 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County or One’s Favorite Pet Charity.
