Nick L Bucholtz

Nick L. Bucholtz, age 70, of Laura, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Hospice of Miami County. He was born September 8, 1953 to Carl & Dolores (Jacobson) Bucholtz in Dayton, Ohio.

He is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife Diana (Carter) Bucholtz of 27 years. He will be missed and remembered by his stepdaughter Rebecca (Daniel) May of Gettysburg; stepson Jerald (Candice) Lock of Springboro; grandchildren Adam May, Landon and Makenna Lock; devoted brother Steve (Staci) Bucholtz and nephew Ryan Bucholtz of Bradford; sisters Elaine (Eric) Dirlam of Muncie, IN and Carla Bucholtz (Steve) of Munice, IN; brother-in-law Ray (Leslie) Carter; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and good friend Sparky.

Nick was a 1972 graduate of Franklin Monroe. He went on to pursue a career in architecture, but decided to follow his heart and join his family working on the farm.

Nick was a dedicated lifelong farmer and had a passion for agriculture. In addition to farming, he also worked as a bus mechanic for Franklin Monroe Local School District. He later became an employee of Wagner Paving where he served in a variety of positions up until his passing.

Nick enjoyed hunting, target practice, and tinkering around the farm. He had a clever mind and was known for fixing things. His pockets were full of useful items, and handy tools were always clipped on his belt, just in case he needed them. He earned the nicknames “Professor” and “MacGyver” by those who knew him. He will be truly missed but not forgotten.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, West Milton. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, March 26 at the funeral home. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, 3230 N. Co.
