Cheryl Lee Sweitzer Coate, age 70, of Pleasant Hill, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 30, 2017 surrounded by family and close friends. She was born March 6, 1947, in Piqua, Ohio, to her parents Robert L. Sr. and Joy E. (Christian) Sweitzer. She will be missed and remembered by her husband Donald O. Coate; son Jeffrey A. Alexander; daughter Michelle L. Alexander; grandchildren Gavin R. Alexander, Cody A. Alexander, Austin L. Matthews, Kassidi D. Alexander, Athan L. Matthews ; brother Robert L. Jr. (Jackie) Sweitzer; sister-in-law Ruthann (Bill) Beck; brothers-in-law Jack (Pam) Coate, Jerol (Kathy) Coate, Jerol has preceded her in passing, son Jeff (Daun) Coate, many nieces and nephews and extended family; and her loving yorkie, Kolbe. She touched the hearts of many, leaving wonderful memories of adventures had, stories to be told and retold of love and laughter that will live in our hearts forever. A gathering of family and friends will be held 5-7 PM Thursday, January 4, at Jackson-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 1 S. Main Street, Pleasant Hill. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Hill/ Newton Township Joint Fire Department, 8 West High Street, Pleasant Hill.
