Dawson E. Cress

Dawson E. Cress, age 74, of West Milton, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018. He was born March 13, 1944 to the late Henry David & Norma Cordelia (Noland) Cress in Troy, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Katherine Sue (McNinch) Cress in 2015 and son Elwood Cress. He will be missed and remembered by his children Brad Cress of Milwaukee, WI, Rod (Kristin) Cress of Ft. Myers, FL, Annie (Steven) Banner of Riverside, Daphne Kennedy of Hillsboro; grandchildren Jennifer Miller, Kyle Cress, Harper Cress, Wyatt Banner, Michael Meredith, Christopher Petit, and Matthew Petit; great grandchildren Brentley Meredith, Tyler Meredith, Carson Petit, and Elisabeth Miller; siblings Darrel (Debra) Cress of Stelvideo; David (Rita) Cress of Union, Doug (Judy) Cress of Troy, and Maryann (Don) Webb of Tipp City. Dawson was a big car enthusiast and loved to hang out with friends at car shows. He also retired from General Motors Inland Plant. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, West Milton. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, August 8 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, PO Box 98018, Washington, DC 20090-8018 in memory of his wife Katherine.
