Edward J. Rhoades
Age 93, of Troy, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018, at Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit. He was born June 10, 1925, in Montgomery County, Ohio, to his parents Edward & Mollie (Warner) Rhoades. In 1946, he married Betty Bridenbaugh and together they raised their family and shared a life for over 69 years. He was co owner of Trojan Blacksmith and Welding and later worked for Chemlawn in the research and development. He was WWII veteran serving in the US Marine Corp.
He was preceded in death by loving wife Betty (Bridenbaugh) Rhoades; brothers Floyd Rhoades, Marian Rhoades, Robert Rhoades; sister Pricilla Giboney.
He will be missed and remembered by his children Kathy (Bob) Cecil-Butler Twp., Kay Altic-Troy, Diane (Randy) Trissell-Troy, David (Vicki) Rhoades-St.Paris, grandchildren Jasmine Zirkle, Brooke Smith (Cory), Ryan (Julie) Trissell, Adam Trissell (Caity Sweet), Rob (Duana) Cecil and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Friday, December 14, at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami Street, West Milton. Chaplain Mollie McGee will officiate with interment following at Riverside Cemetery, West Milton. The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County.
