Hilda Mae Spitler, age 95, passed away on October 3, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born on March 13, 1922 to the late Orval and Clara (MacIntosh) Kisling in Dayton, Ohio. Hilda was preceded in death by her husband Merlin Spitler, son-in-law Joe Gardner, and siblings Grace, Ruth, and Don. She will be missed and remembered by her daughter Judith K. Gardner and son Randy (Jodie) Spitler, both of Englewood; brother Keith Kisling of Eaton; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Hilda worked at Ruth’s Dress Shop in West Milton, Montgomery’s Watch Services, and was a school bus driver and telephone operator. She was also a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, West Milton. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 PM on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1209 S. Miami St, West Milton. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 6, at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, with Pastor Steve Gellataly and Pastor John Johansen co-officiating. Burial will follow at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are in care of Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, West Milton. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Hilda to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or the West Milton Senior Citizen Center.
