JAMES EDWARD WESTRICH, 82, of Englewood, Ohio went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 28th, 2018 after a brief illness.
Jim was born to Edward and Mary Alice (née Dwyer) Westrich on February 23rd, 1936 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended high school in Cincinnati and earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Xavier University. Jim worked as a Federal Employee at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base for many years as a senior member of the Comptroller at Aeronautical Systems Center, and was recognized as the base employee of the year in 1974. Jimmy Adams, a close friend and colleague, stated he “led teams of analysts tasked to estimate the costs for the largest and most critical Air Force aircraft programs. These analyses were key inputs for Air Force and Department of Defense program approval decisions. Jim's skill and credibility led to him becoming one of the most respected members of the Comptroller community.”
In his private life, Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and working with Mary on their Shaklee business and 20-acre farm. His passion was to seek God and to share that passion with the lost, as well as with others through prayer groups and classes.
He is survived by his wife Mary of 56 years; children Christopher Westrich, Lisa (Jan) Ledyard, Patrick Westrich, Maria (Joel) Sprinkle, and Paulette (Ryan) Farmer; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, brothers Larry (Dianne) Westrich, Ronald (late Peggy) Westrich, Ray (Elaine) Westrich, and Paul (Cathy) Westrich. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary “Betty” Westrich.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jim and Mary’s name to First Responder Ministries (an outreach mission to Africa), 651 Skyview Drive, West Carrollton, OH, 45449.
