Kenneth Eugene Kauffman March 12, 1925 – January 30, 2018 Kenneth Eugene Kauffman, of Brookville, Ohio, passed from this life on January 30, 2018. He was 92. He had been a resident of BrookHaven Retirement Community for the last several years. He was born on March 12, 1925, at Garland, Ohio, to Jesse and Glenna Shelley Kauffman. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Harold, Robert, Floyd, Harry, Herman and Earl Kauffman; his sisters Mary Kauffman Dietrich, Betty Kauffman Altic, Eva Kauffman Valentine, and Evelyn Kauffman; son-in-law James Noffsinger. He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Mary Lucille Kauffman; daughter Linda Kauffman Noffsinger, Gulf Shores, AL; son Keith (Carma Jo), Danville, OH; daughter Beverly (Bill) Klepinger, Laura, OH; grandchildren Jeffrey Noffsinger, Jodi Noffsinger (Chien) Hwang, Jamie (Scott) Metzger, Kelly (Korey) Kidwell, Amy (Chad) Booher, Emily (Kyle) Hatfield, and twelve great-grandchildren. A WWII veteran, he served as Sgt. in the U.S. Army, 20th Infantry, 1945, 1946, in the Philippines and South Korea. Kenny and Lucille lived on the Kauffman family farm, his birthplace, and they farmed it together for 60 years before his retirement at age 85. He had also been a bus driver and bus supervisor at Milton-Union Schools for 30 years. He was a lifetime member of the West Milton American Legion Post 487, a member of the West Milton VFW and the Laura Lions Club. Kenny loved farming. He very much enjoyed working; his hobby was working. When he wasn’t working, he liked to lend a helping hand to those in need. He remained committed to beautifying his farm and neighboring areas by keeping them mowed and weed-free. The family will receive visitors at Hale-Sarver Funeral Home, West Milton, Ohio, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, February 2. Services will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, February 3 at 10:30 with burial at Royal Oaks Memorial Gardens, 7217 National Road, Brookville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made be made to Hospice, the West Milton VFW, or the West Milton American Legion c/o Hale-Sarver.
