Reta Mae Stitz
Age 82, of West Milton, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at her home. She was born July 7, 1935, in Troy, Ohio, to her parents Walter & E. Mae (Ricker) Rehmert. Reta graduated from Troy High School class of 1953 and graduated from Ohio State University with her Bachelor's Degree in Education. She retired as a substitute teacher from Milton-Union Schools. Reta was a foster mother for over 60 children from the years of 1972-1985, and was a charter member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where she volunteered at the Clothesline (church resale shop) and plarning group. She was also a member of the Grandmother’s Club and Miltonian’s Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dean Allen Stitz in 2008; her parents; and brother Martin Rehmert. She will be missed and remembered by her loving children and their spouses Allen & Laurie Stitz of West Chester, Mary Ellen & Michael Valentino of Bolivar; grandchildren Dean Allen (Aimee) Stitz of Columbus, Todd Stitz of Scottsdale, Arizona, Alexander Bailey of Canton, Spencer Bailey of San Francisco, California, Carlie Valentino of Canton, Briana Valentino of Canton, Alexa Valentino of Canton; great grandchildren Cole & Clark Bailey. Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 10, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1209 S. Miami Street, West Milton, with Pastor Steven Gellatly officiating. The family will receive friends from 9-11 AM Saturday at the church. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
