Roger Svec, Age 73, of Laura, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 14, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his parents Ralph & Adalee (Lutz) Coulon. He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife Cheryl Anne (Armitage) Svec of Laura; daughter Laura Stamps of Laura; granddaughters Brittany (Derrick) Young of Greenville and Mary Stamps (Wes Runyon) of Tipp City; 2 great grandchildren Troy Michael Svec Young and Justice Young of Greenville. Roger served his country proudly in the United States Army National Guard during the Vietnam War where he earned the Sharpshooter Badge and other badges. He also was a member of the VFW and loved his family, fishing, boating and was great with kids and animals. A memorial service to honor Roger’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 2 at New Life Worship Center, 3350 Benchwood Rd, Dayton, OH 45414 with Pastor Tom Friend officiating.
