Ruby Elizabeth Coate, Age 100, of Pleasant Hill, Ohio passed away peacefully at her home on April 10, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born in Ludlow Falls on July 12, 1916 to Corwin and Grace Coate. Ruby married Boyd Coate on February 8, 1936. She is preceded in death by her husband and son Jerol Lynn Coate. Ruby is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Don and Cheryl Coate, Jack and Pam Coate and Kathy Coate; daughter and son-in-law Ruthann and Bill Beck; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren. Ruby graduated from Milton-Union High School in 1934. She worked her entire life from her home. She loved to play cards with her family and friends, doing crafts and crocheted over 700 pairs of what the family called “Ruby Slippers” which were all given to family and friends. She is free and at peace but will be greatly missed by her family and friends. There will be no visitation and in keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated. Arrangements are in care of Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, West Milton. A private family service will be held at a later date.
