Stanley Lee Flowers of West Milton, age 87, passed away May 12, 2018. He was born to the late Paul E. Flowers and Delpha Mae (Sterling) DeWeese on February 27, 1931 in Dayton, Ohio. Stanley is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Patricia L. (Thompson) Flowers; children Teri Flowers Bevington and Scott (Sue) Flowers; grandchildren Kayla, Amanda, Tyler, Ben and Angie; and great-grandchildren Morley, Gianluca, Breckin, Asher, and Dominic. He is preceded in death by his brother Ray E. Flowers, granddaughter Brittney and great-grandson Logan. Stan was a Troy High School graduate, class of 1949, and went on to earn his Associates Degree from Sinclair Community College in Engineering. He owned and operated Stanco Engineering. Stan was very active in his community. He attended the West Milton United Church of Christ, was a member of the YMCA for over 60 years, was a member of Troy Masonic Lodge F & AM, served on the West Milton Police and Fire Departments, was a former City Council member, and founded the Little Majors Drill Unit. He was an artist, fluent in Spanish, a former Golden Glove boxer, and enjoyed scuba diving for 45 years. Stan also served his country proudly in the Air National Guard for six years. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home (which he designed in 1957), 284 N. Miami St, West Milton, with interment following at Riverside Cemetery, West Milton. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday evening, May 16, at the funeral home, with Masonic Service beginning at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 8069 Washington Village Dr, Dayton, OH 45458.
