William George O’Brien, Age 81, of West Milton, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit. He was born April 16, 1936 to the late Vernie & Mary (Parnel) O’Brien in Dayton, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his siblings Harry O’Brien and Sara Kehler. He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife Linda Kay (Patton) O’Brien of 57 years; son John “Bud” (Kim) O’Brien of Troy; daughters Teresa O’Brien of Columbus and Kelly (Robert) Steverson of Ft. Wayne, IN and grandchildren Johnny, Melanie, Joey (Emily) and Robby. Bill attended Fairview High School and served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. He also currently was a Trustee for Union Township; member, past master, and former treasurer of West Milton Masonic Lodge #577 F & AM and member and former treasurer of the West Milton Lions Club. Bill also served on numerous boards for the village of West Milton and a former member of the Community Chest. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, West Milton. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, November 8 at the funeral home with a masonic service beginning at 7:45 PM.
