William “Sonny”  Whitten
Age 82, of West Milton, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019, at Hospice of Miami County. He was born June 9, 1936, in Blackshear, Georgia, to his parents Thomas &  Mozel (Livingston) Whitten. He retired from the Ironworkers Local 290 at 40 years of employment.
He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife of 57 years Vanda (Hensley) Whitten; sons and daughters-in-law William & Lori Whitten of Troy, Anthony & Kimberly Whitten of Troy, Jerry & Sandy Whitten of Ludlow Falls; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings Charles & Phyllis Whitten of Illinois, Betty Jo Hood of Georgia, Judith Mullins of Georgia. He was preceded in death by his son Timothy Whitten; siblings Marion Whitten, Thomas Whitten, Audri Faye Vanwinkle, Laura Francis “Franny” Monroe.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, February 28, at Pleasant Hill Brethren in Christ Church, 101 West Hill Street, Pleasant Hill, with interment following at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM Wednesday at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami Street, West Milton.
