Barbara Davis Obituary

Barbara Ann Davis

Age 88, of Troy, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County. She was born April 4, 1936, in Coletown, Ohio, to her parents John & Mabel (Petry) Thompson who preceded her in death. Barbara's life was a testament to the joy and warmth she brought to everyone around her. Barbara's professional journey was marked by dedication and service. She retired from Sears Robuck at the Salem Mall after 32 years of employment, where she not only excelled in her role but also formed lifelong friendships. Her commitment to work did not wane with retirement, as she continued to share her talents at Kroger in Englewood for over five years, bringing smiles and comfort to both customers and colleagues alike. A lifelong member of the West Milton United Church of Christ, Barbara's faith was a cornerstone of her life. Her involvement in the church community reflected her deep belief in kindness and compassion. Barbara's spirit truly shone during the fall weekends when she could be found enthusiastically cheering for the Ohio State football team and the Cincinnati Reds, her passion for the games as unwavering as her love for her family. Barbara's greatest joy was her family, especially playing with her grandchildren when they were younger. She created a world of wonder and laughter for them, a legacy of cherished memories that will live on in their hearts. Her home was a hub of activity, where family and friends gathered to play games, share stories, and revel in the laughter that Barbara naturally elicited from all who knew her. An avid collector, Barbara surrounded herself with angels and teapots, each piece a reflection of her personality—graceful, comforting, and filled with warmth. Barbara's departure leaves behind a void that can never be filled, but her memory will continue to inspire laughter and love in those who were fortunate enough to know her. She was the embodiment of all that is good in the world, and her legacy will be carried forward by the countless lives she touched. Barbara Ann Davis will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain a guiding light for her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents; son Gregory Davis; sister and brother-in-law Patricia & Nelson Applegate; sister-in-law Glenda Thompson.  She will be missed and remembered by her former husband and lifelong friend Richard Davis ; her loving children and their spouse Karen & Charles Wackler, Doug & Nancy Davis, Rod Davis, Debra & Pat Roth; grandchildren Jeremy Davis (Stephanie), Adam Davis (Elizabeth), Curtis Wacker (Kaitlyn), Joy Davis Gockel (Brian), Christopher Roth (Kristen), Philip Roth (Lisa), Emily Wackler Humphrey (Shawn), Elizabeth Roth; 12 great grandchildren with one expecting; sister and brother-in-law Pam & Robert Anspach; brother Harold Thompson; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.  Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Thursday, March 13, at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N.
