Barbara Lori Boris
Passed away on the 12th of June, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio. Born in Denver, Colorado, on October 6, 1959, Barbara's radiant spirit enriched the world for 65 years.
Barbara was the cherished daughter of the late Harry Eugene Buffum and Joyce Fonseca (Ducker). She found her life's companion in Wayne William Boris and together, they embarked on a journey of love and partnership when they wed on August 14, 1982, in Hesperia, California. Their union was blessed with the joy of their children: Matthew Boris of Meridian, Idaho, and Keri Buffum of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was a loving sister to her siblings and their spouses, Lonny & Candace Vietz of West Milton, and Harry “Gene” & Monica Buffum of Rock Port, Indiana, and Marla & Steve Corsi of Lincoln, Nebraska, and a loving grandmother to her seven grandchildren.
Barbara's professional life included dedicated service at the Englewood YMCA, where she was not only a valued employee but an integral member of the community she served. Her commitment to her work was apparent through the warm and inviting atmosphere she fostered and the significant impact she made on the many lives she touched.
Outside of work, Barbara's interests were centered around reading and spending time with her family. Her love for reading was surpassed only by her love for her family.
Barbara lived her life as a reflection of her core values: friendliness, loving nature, and thoughtfulness. These attributes not only defined her but also resonated in her actions and the soft words of wisdom she shared. Those who knew Barbara experienced a friendship that was genuine and a love that was unconditional.
As we say goodbye to Barbara, we celebrate a life lived with grace and compassion. Her memory will linger in the hearts of her loved ones, a treasured presence never to be forgotten. Barbara leaves behind a legacy of kindness, family unity, and the irreplaceable warmth of a welcoming heart, and her story will be recounted with smiles and a deep appreciation for the time she shared with us.
