Barbara H Emmons

Barbara H. Emmons, 89, of Tipp City, Ohio, passed away on June 19, 2023 after a brief hospital stay.

Barbara was born on October 18, 1933. She graduated from Milton-Union High School in 1951 and went on to work for Winters Bank in Dayton, Ohio. She met and married Richard Milton Barr and had two children. After being widowed at a young age, Barbara married Harold Emmons of Tipp City, Ohio.

Barbara was a special woman with a strong faith and a sharp wit. She was a thoughtful and generous person with a philanthropic spirit. Barbara loved her family and enjoyed traveling, gardening, shopping, Christmas, chocolate and lobster tail. Her lifelong passion was reading and it was not unusual for her to have two books going at the same time. Barbara was a long-time member of the United Church of Christ in West Milton, Ohio and a supporter of the Milton-Union Alumni Association.

Barbara was predeceased by parents Myron and Ezelda Hunt of West Milton, Ohio; husband, Richard Milton Barr of Columbus, Ohio, second husband, Harold Emmons of Tipp City, Ohio; and brother-in-law, Gail Stickelman of Tipp City, Ohio.

Barbara is survived by children, Amy Langston Barr and Richard Randall Barr of Tipp City, Ohio; stepdaughter, Cheryl Fahy of Tipp City, Ohio and her children, Katie and Matt Fahy; sister, Diana Stickelman of Tipp City, Ohio; niece, Tamara (Mark) Simonian of Georgia; nephew, Mike (Gina) Stickelman, of Vandalia, Ohio.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City at 2:00 PM on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Milton-Union Alumni Association.
