Betsy Lou McDermott

Age 56, of Dayton, passed away Monday, March 22, 2021, at her home. She was born July 9, 1964, in Covington, Ohio, to her parents Robert & Evelyn Mae (Eby) Rhoades. Betsy graduated from Covington High School class of 1982. Following high school, she earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Bowling Green State University and worked as a teacher at Dominion Academy. She was a member of the Christ the King Anglican Church in Dayton and volunteered at the Miami Valley Women’s Center.

She will be missed and remembered by her loving husband Michael Francis McDermott; children Emma McDermott of Bowling Green, Robert McDermott of Dayton; sister and brother-in-law Sheila & Marty Thomas of Dayton. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Craig Rhoades. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 27, at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami Street, West Milton, with interment following at Miami Memorial Park, Covington. The family will receive friends from 9:00-10:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
