Bruce Allen Heaston, age 74, of West Milton, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 12, 1951 to Ralph Watkins & Lavera Ann (Hoewischer) in Piqua, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Brian Heaston.
He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife Barbara Jean (Jankowiak) of 52 years; children Rebecca Williams of Rapid City, MI, Carolyn (Douglas) Wenning of Troy, Julie (Aaron) Brown of Troy, and Matthew (Ashley) Heaston of Fountain Inn, SC; grandchildren Elias and Clara Wenning, Kaylin Nivens, and Jonathan Hill; sister Lorna (Jack) Furderer of New Carlisle.
Bruce retired after over 40 years working as an electrical engineer and holding multiple patents for General Motors Delphi, Emerson, and Crown. He was a member of American Radio Relay League with his call sign KA8LMX. Bruce was an electronics hobbyist and avid tinkerer. He loved going backpacking, camping, and traveling, especially when going on their family adventures.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton. Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 21 in Spring Grove Cemetery, N. Heck Hill Rd, St. Paris, OH. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Monday, April 20 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Museum of the United States Air Force, Dayton, OH. Online memories of Bruce may be left for the family at www.hale-sarver.com.
