Charles Olien Richardson Sr.

Charles Olien Richardson Sr. of Englewood, age 85, passed away on June 14, 2023.  Charles was born on October 10, 1937 to the late Olien D. Richardson and Mabel A. (Meyers) Richardson in Piqua, Ohio. He is survived by his children Charles Richardson Jr. of Englewood, Mark (Tammy) Richardson of Moraine, and Tracy (Joe) Souders of Englewood; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Fry) Richardson; and sisters Kay, Rosemary, and Marletta.  

In addition to his work at the General Motors Plant, Charles was well known for the time he spent  entertaining others professionally as “Santa” & “Yo-Yo the Clown”, culminating in appearances as Santa in the Macy’s Day Parade in New York City. 

The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 PM on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton, with funeral services following at 2 PM.  Interment will be held at Bethel Cemetery, Phillipsburg.
