Darrell K. Batner

Age 66, passed away Friday, June 26, 2026, at his home in Ludlow Falls. He was born August 11, 1959, in Ludlow Falls, Ohio, to his parents Charles M. Batner and Dolores N. (Wagnoner) Batner.  Darrell graduated from Milton-Union High School and worked as a truck driver for Gostomsky Trucking. He loved fishing and camping with family and friends, and spending time with everyone he knew. He was a handy man always fixing and working on projects. He could do anything from building a house to rebuilding a motor. He enjoyed fixing, building and teaching and was an inspiration to those who learned from him. His many accomplishments emphasize his ability to successfully formulate and implement a plan regardless of the challenge he faced.

He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife Tina J. (Griffieth) Batner; children and their spouses, Stephen & Melinda Griffieth of Troy, Stephanie & Matt Naff of West Milton.  His grandchildren David and Lilliana Kerlin of Greeley, Colorado, Chris Kerlin of Reno, Nevada, Mikaela Griffieth of Troy, Lacey Naff of West Milton, Josalyn Abrams of Littleton, Colorado, Jase Abrams of West Milton, Oliver Watercutter of West Milton, Cameron Watercutter of West Milton; siblings Charles “Mikey” Batner of Gettysburg, Cheryl & Brian Fogle of Summerton, South Carolina; special mother-in-law Helen Griffieth of Troy. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Lavern Ley, Bruce Ley, and Brian Batner.

The family would like to thank the nurses at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County, especially Vernetta Rutledge for the care they showed to Darrell during their time with him.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 11, at Old Union Cemetery, 6995 Horseshoe Bend Road, Ludlow Falls, OH 45339. A celebration of life will be held immediately after the services at 8870 West State Route 571, West Milton, Ohio.  All those who wish to celebrate are welcome to attend.
