David Quentin Glenn, age 82, of Laura, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Hospice of Miami County. He was born January 15, 1941 to Andrew M. & Ruth D. (Hughs) Glenn in St. Albans, West Virginia.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Wanda Ruth Glenn; siblings Betty Tayler, Lotus Glenn, Robert Glenn, and Russell Glenn.
He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife Wanda Jean (Barker) Glenn of 59 years; children Yvonda (John) Roe, David Allen Glenn; grandchildren Misty Garcia (Felix), Tyler Trent; great grandchildren Alexander David Jackson, Arianna Mae Jackson, Matthew Garcia, Lucas Garcia; brothers John (Lala) Glenn and George Glenn.
David served his country proudly in the United States Army serving as a military police. He retired from A.O. Smith as a shipping and receiving clerk for 35 years. David was a member of the American Legion post 487 in West Milton, National Rifle Association. He was the president of the IBEW in Dayton, served as the men’s softball coach for A.O. Smith and was a 5 gallon blood donor for the Red Cross.
A graveside service will be held at 12:30 PM on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W. Third St, Dayton, OH 45428. A celebration of life will be held from 4-6 PM on Friday, August 18 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, with a service beginning at 6:00 PM. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Diabetes Dayton, or Hospice of Miami County. Memories of David may be left for the family online at www.hale-sarver.com.
