David L Rice

David L. Rice, age 67, of West Milton, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit. He was born February 10, 1959 to the late Carl & Joan (Osborn) Rice in Dayton, Ohio.

He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife Frances E. (Diltz) Rice of 31 years; children Erin (Brian) Smith of West Milton, Kyle (Jessica) Wright of Pleasant Hill, and William (Meagan) Rice of Troy; grandchildren Kayleigh, Emily, Ellenore, Kenai, and Denali; sisters Linda (Tim) Lawson of West Alexandria, and Lisa (Jim) Derringer of Lewisburg; Aunt Teresa (Dean) Wright.

David was a member of the Miami Valley Outdoor Club and Home Builders Association. He was a gifted builder and woodworker, a true craftsman of the trade. David was an avid outdoorsman where he enjoyed hiking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and even cross-country skiing.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton.
