Deane Janis Puterbaugh
Age 83, of Englewood, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2020, at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born January 18, 1937, in Troy, Ohio, to her parents Dean & Evelyn (Hall) Werts. She graduated from Milton-Union High School class of 1955. She was a longtime member of the West Milton United Church of Christ where she served as a Deaconess. She was also member of the Red Hat Society and West Milton Lioness Club. She was a former Girl Scout Troop Leader and, along with her husband John, was active with the Miami Valley Folk Dancers. She was resident of Grace Brethren Village in Englewood for over 8 years where she volunteered as a greeter to all the new residents.  Deane was preceded in death by her loving husband John Lee Puterbaugh and her sister Judy Shellenberger. She will be missed and remembered by her children and their spouses Richard & Karen Puterbaugh of Kernersville, North Carolina, Jerry & Sharon Puterbaugh of West Milton, Cheryl Puterbaugh & Brendan Bonham of Tampa; Judy Puterbaugh of Kettering; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law Elaine Oliver of Greenville, Kathy & Bob Stringer of Tipp City, Gloria McDowell of Troy, Candy & Lonny Vietz of West Milton. Private family services will be held with interment at Miami Memorial Park, Covington. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the West Milton United Church of Christ.
