The family of Deborah Kay Brown, 56, is deeply saddened to announce her passing on Monday, July 6, 2026 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, following a courageous battle with lung cancer. Ultimately, it was too much for her body to endure, and her soul left this physical Earth and the many people that cared deeply for her. She is no longer in pain, and in that, we should take comfort.

Debby was born on June 16, 1970, in Dayton, Ohio to the late Donald S.R. and Ethel Kay (Tipton) Hobson. She graduated from Troy High School with the Class of 1988 and dedicated 34 years to Fifth Third Bank, where she built lasting friendships with coworkers, customers and members of the community. She couldn’t go anywhere without running into someone she knew and she will always be remembered for her warm smile, kind heart and genuine love for others. 

On August 5, 1989, Debby married the love of her life, Larry Ray Brown of Tipp City, Ohio. Through their marriage, she gained Larry’s daughters, Jenny and Chrissy, as her own and helped shape them into the women they are today. Their family was completed with the birth of their daughter, Katie. Debby cherished every opportunity to support her children attending countless dance competitions, concerts, sporting events and family celebrations. She especially treasured the close bond shared with her granddaughter, Sofia.

Debby and Larry enjoyed camping, attending car races and concerts and celebrating their anniversaries with trips to the beaches of the Bahamas, Cozumel, Punta Cana, Jamaica, Aruba and a family trip to Cancun. Many wonderful memories stem from these trips and will be remembered forever. She found joy in crafting, cooking, shopping, going to the casino, family game nights, backyard gatherings and hosting unforgettable holiday meals. She loved creating things with the people she loved, leaving behind keepsakes that will forever remind her family of the special moments they shared together. 

Debby is survived by her devoted husband of 36 years, Larry Brown; her daughters, Jenny Brown of New Carlisle, Chrissy Salmeron of Union, and Katie Brown of Union, along with their respective significant others; her granddaughter, Sofia Salmeron; her niece, Autumn Hobson of West Milton; her great-niece, Marilyn Hobson; and her great-nephew, Elias Hobson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald S.R. Hobson and Ethel Kay Hobson and her brother Donny Hobson. 

A Celebration of Life will be held by the family on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Troy Eagles Recreation Park, 2252 Troy-Urbana Road, Troy, Ohio.
