Diana Louise Gauer (Stogdill), age 83, of West Milton, OH, passed from our hand to Jesus on Friday, September 6, 2024, leaving behind endless arts & crafts, quilts, needlepoint, boxes of pictures for scrapbooking, and 2 full walk-in closets full of clothes, shoes, bracelets, and necklaces with matching earrings. She always was dressed for success until the day she departed.
Diana is survived by her wonderful and ever so patient husband, Don, the love of her life of 25 years. She is survived by 3 daughters and 1 son: Juanita (Scott) Krisher and Kimberly (John) Leffew, Jerrod (Stephanie) Gauer, and Heather Gauer; grandchildren Sarah Krisher, Christian (Brittany) Krisher, Caleb (Kaitlyn) Neff, Carly Krisher, Jessica (Anthony) Atkinson, Tyler Leffew, Evelyn Gauer, Elaina Gauer, Colton James, and Ethan James; great grandchildren: Bentley and Amity Josephine Krisher. She also left behind best friends Barb Yates and Janice Weaver, and her Lunch bunch gang.
Diana is preceded in death by her parents Cliff and Virgie Stogdill; son Richard Gauer; her sister Ruth Mason; and her best friend Kathy Falkowski.
Diana graduated from Trotwood High School in 1960 and met Don while working in Kroger. They dated briefly and went separate ways until circumstances brought them back together 30 years later. They combined our families to make great get-togethers and memories. Diana graduated from The University of Dayton with a teaching degree and followed in her mother’s footsteps of teaching 1st grade (gaining patience with children she would later desperately need). Diana left teaching to work at General Motors Inland where she retired to enjoy traveling to many countries, arts & crafts, quilting, meetings every Friday with the Lunch Bunch, grandchildren activities, and being Martha Stewart’s rival. She was an avid fan of watching The View which we believe caused her terminal brain cancer. Tremendous and heartfelt thanks go to the truly exceptional staff at Capital Health Hospice.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 PM on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Capital Health Hospice or Happy Corner Church. Online memories of Diana may be left for the family at www.hale-sarver.com.
