Diane Marie (Longley) Belmaggio Obituary
Diane Marie Belmaggio, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 25, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio to Luther and Adele Longley. Her life, remembered for unwavering love, laughter, and service will be a fond memory for all who knew her.
Diane was a 1967 Vandalia-Butler High School graduate. After high school, she attended Ned Karns Beauty School where she graduated in 1969. She was a successful beautician for 53 years, owning her own salon for much of that time. Her claim to fame was doing hair for an actress from her favorite soap opera. Diane loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed going to their sporting events and cheering them on. She was their sounding board- always without judgement and with plenty of wisdom and love! Diane also loved spending time with friends and family while boating at the lake. She enjoyed cruises with her husband, family, and friends along with playing her favorite slot machines.
Diane was a very proud, supportive, and loving mother to Lisa and son-in-law, Brian. She was a devoted grandmother to two grandchildren of her own, Hannah Marie and Braedan Michael, who held a special place in her heart. She was a loyal, loving wife to husband Joseph. Through their marriage, she was blessed with a stepdaughter, Lori (Tom); a stepson, Joseph; along with four step-grandchildren, Alex, Maddy, Grace and Andrew, all of whom brought her great joy. Diane is also survived by her loving sisters, Marilyn and Peggy; her brother, David; several nieces and nephews; along with her sister and brothers-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Adele Longley; and brothers, Danny Longley and Ed Longley, whose memories she cherished deeply.
A celebration of Diane’s life will be held on October 2, 2026, at St. Christopher Church in Vandalia, Ohio. Visitation will take place from 10-11 AM, followed by a mass of christian burial officiated by Father David Tran.
