Dixie Lee Porter
Age 87, of West Milton, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County. She was born April 19, 1937, in Dayton, Ohio, to her parents Marian “Jack” Bush Fitzpatrick & Alice Irene (White) Fitzpatrick. Dixie graduated from Fairview High School class of 1955. She retired from Milton-Union Schools in 1998 as a bus driver for over 21 years. On December 24, 1955, she married Richard “Dick” Emmett Porter in Dayton, Ohio, and together they raised their family shared a life for over 69 years. She was a longtime of member of the Hoffman Global Methodist Church
She will be missed and remembered by her loving husband Richard Porter; daughters and sons-in-law Debra & Robert Shelby of Leesburg, Florida, Denise & Larry Hunter of Tipp City, and Vince Franklin of Clearwater, Florida; grandchildren and their spouses Doug & Joy Trent, Dawn Lyttle, David Lyttle, Brian & Katie Wooddell, Andrew & Stephanie Wooddell, Daniel & Lauren Trent, Casey & Heidi Wooddell; 19 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Donna Franklin; brother Marian Bush Fitzpatrick, Jr.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Friday, March 28, at Hoffman Global Methodist Church, 201 S. Main Street, West Milton, with interment following at Parish Cemetery, Brookville. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:30 AM Friday. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
