Dolores Longenecker Obituary

Dolores Jeannine Kastle Longenecker, age 85, of Piqua, passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Brookdale of Piqua. She was born May 30, 1935 to the late Harry Elijah Jr & Grace Anna (Richards) Benning in Dayton, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her first husband John Edward Kastle Sr; second husband Elmer A. Longenecker; brothers Harry Benning Jr and Richard Benning. She will be missed and remembered by her loving children Kathy (Bill) Thaman of Milford Center, John (Sherry) Kastle of Piqua, and Todd Kastle (Dr. Claire Ritter) of Tipp City; grandchildren BJ Thaman (Bonnie Schall), Nicole (Gavin) Patch, Kelly (Ben) Perreira, Sarah (Zach) Tyre, Christian, Justine and Andrew Kastle; 11 great grandchildren; sisters Carole (Bob) Shoemaker of Beavercreek and Joan Benning Allen of Wisconsin. Dolores graduated from Roosevelt High School and was a member of the Potsdam United Methodist Church. She loved to paint watercolors and making quilts. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, New Carlisle. Arrangements are in care of Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, West Milton. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Brookdale of Piqua and Hospice of Miami County for their care.
