Donald Ray Brush Sr.

Donald Ray Brush Sr., age 86, of Dayton, passed away on August 4, 2025 in Troy, Ohio. He was born on May 18, 1939 in Dayton, Ohio to Francis and Emma (Larrick) Brush.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son Donald Brush Jr.; brothers and sisters-in-law Frank (Thelma) Brush Jr., Jack (Opal) Brush, Bill (Carol) Brush; sisters Virginia (Jewel) Hunt and Betty Swallows; sister-in-law Sharon Brush.

He will be missed and remembered by his wife of 66 years Norma (Kidder) Brush; daughters Wanda (Lynden “TZ”) Smaltz of West Milton and Angie (Shane) Letzring of Clearwater, Florida; sons David Brush of Dayton, Doug (Karen) Brush of Dayton; brother Harold Brush of Englewood; brother-in-law Kenny Swallows of Vandalia; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Donald attended Northridge High School and was an owner of Ohio Contractors where he worked as a stone mason. He was very active in the community and was Past President of West Milton Rec Council and Past President of SWBL. He was very instrumental in developing the Lowery Field for Baseball in West Milton and brought S.A.Y. Soccer League to West Milton. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM.
