Donald P. Evans Obituary

Donald Paul Evans, 73, of Pleasant Hill, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 6, 2017, at his residence. He was born December 8, 1943, in Piqua, to the late Paul W. and Edna L. (Laughman) Evans.

Don will be missed and remembered by his loving wife of 49 years, Arlene K. (Brumbaugh) Evans; three children, Jonathon Evans of Adrian, Mich., Robbie (Amanda) Evans of Troy; Andrea James (Curtis Kinnel) of Troy; brother Dean (Vicky) Evans of De Pere, Wisc.; 14 grandchildren, Jessica, Kristopher, Taren, Brenden, Keenan, Jordan, Ali, Kaleb, Jacob, Baylee, Brighton, Cheyenne, Kelsay, and Ryan; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Evans, Lois (Tom) Bohlander; and a brother, David Evans.

Donald was a retired farmer, having farmed in Miami County for over 50 years. He was a member of the Potsdam Church of the Brethren. Don never knew a stranger and was blessed with many friends. He was a devoted family man, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was always looking to make others laugh, and was seen as a second father or grandfather by many.

Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, February 9, at the Potsdam Church of the Brethren, 22 E. Cross St., Potsdam, with Pastor Carl Hill officiating. Private visitation and burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Potsdam Church of the Brethren or to the Heifer Project. Arrangements are in care of Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill. Online tributes may be left at jackson-sarver.com.
