Donald J. Kolb

Donald Joseph Kolb, age 88, of Englewood, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born December 16, 1935 to Robert Joseph & Mary (Hart) Kolb in Dayton, Ohio.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother John Kolb. He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife Drucilla Ann (King) Kolb of 56 years; children Jennifer Kolb of Dayton, Michael Kolb of Englewood, Mark & Elizabeth (Wical) Kolb of Englewood, and Carol Bullard of Columbus; grandchildren Joseph, Mary, Veronica, Eleanor, Maximilian, Magdalen, Jacinta, Robert, Jane, Mercedes, and Lucia Kolb, Aaron (Alondra) Bullard, and Jacob Bullard; great granddaughter Alice Bullard; sisters Eileen (George) Berner and Helen (Gary) Tegtmeyer; sister-in-law Marie Kolb; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Donald was a Versailles High School graduate and served his country proudly in the United States Navy as a radioman on a aircraft P2VYF Neptune Submarine Hunter. He retired as a school teacher after 31 years at Dayton Public Schools. Donald was an active member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and loved farming.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 22, 2024 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 8616 N. Dixie Dr, Dayton, OH 45414. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton with a rosary prayers at 6:30 PM. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Masses for Poor Souls c/o Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. Online memories of Donald may be left for the family at www.hale-sarver.com.
