Donald Duane Weikert, age 92, of Potsdam, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at StoryPoint West Milton. He was born July 17, 1934 to Donald D. & Callie Marie (Waymire) Weikert in Potsdam, Ohio.

He is preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter Paulette Ann Weikert; son Patrick Weikert; siblings Richard Weikert, Barbara Anderson, David Blechinger, Mary Cortel, and infant sister Weikert.

He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife Joyce Ann (Myers) Weikert of 73 years; daughters Claudette (Steve) Post of Potsdam and Pamala (Todd) Cota of Troy; daughter-in-law Rhonda Weikert of Potsdam; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brothers Ronald Weikert of Jacksonville, FL, and Marvin (Mary) Weikert of Tipp City; sister Carolyn Lange of Springfield, OH.

Duane was a 1953 Milton-Union High School graduate. He was a lifelong member and deacon of the Potsdam Church of the Brethren. Duane worked for Acme Precision Products in Dayton for 18 years as a machine repairman and builder then went on to retire from General Motors Delco Moraine Plant after 18 years of service with his Journeyman’s card. He was a part-time farmer and raised cattle on the family homestead.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, August 10, 2026 at Potsdam Church of the Brethren, 22 E. Cross St, Potsdam, OH 45361. Burial will follow in Potsdam Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM on Sunday, August 9 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton.
