Doris A. Rice

Age 82, of Laura, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023. She was born August 10, 1941, in Union City, Indiana, to her parents Herschel A. & Eileen M. (Marshall) Newbauer. Doris graduated from Greenville High School and worked as a US Postal worker. She will be missed by her family, friends and church family with many cherishable memories. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years Ronald D. Rice; siblings Rose M. Dockery, Michael A. Newbaurer, Steven D. Newbauer; son-in-law Anthony Black. She will be missed and remembered by her daughters Rebecca L. Black of West Milton and Wendy S. (Joseph) Fields of Laura; grandchildren Nathan (Brandi) Fields, Nicholas (Cori) Fields, Allison (Matt) Schwartz, and Amanda Black; great grandchildren Easton, Emmett, Elliott, Avery; brother Philip (Fonda J.) Newbauer of Greenville; sisters-in-law Linda K. Newbauer of Greenville, brother-in-law Larry Dockery of Warsaw, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, September 11, at the Laura Christian Church, 1 S. Main St, Laura, OH 45337 with Pastor Andrew Barnes officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM Monday at the church.  If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Valley Hospice .
