Frederick D. Shank, Sr.
Age 95, of Union, formerly of Beavercreek, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at Maria Joseph Nursing Home. He was born October 30, 1925, in Dayton, Ohio, to his parents Leigh Holmes & Laura (Kolb) Shank. Fred graduated from Fairmont High School class of 1943 and served in the US Air Force during WWII. He retired from NCR after 33 years of employment and attended the Salem Church of God. Fred never knew a stranger and always had a quick witted quip to make people laugh.
He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife of 73 years Mary Josephine (Brady) Shank; children and their spouses Frederick, Jr. & Sally Shank of Tipp City, Becky & Odell Prince of Gaylord, Michigan, Ray & Kelly Shank of Dayton; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his four siblings.
Services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, November 14, at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami Street (Rt 48), West Milton. Interment at Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 8069 Washington Village Dr., Dayton, OH 45458
