Gayle Ann Locke, faithful witness of her Lord, passed away peacefully at home on December 26, 2025, in Union, Ohio. She was born on August 30, 1943, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Howard Wilbur Long and Esther Naomi Long (Brumbaugh).
After graduating from Franklin Monroe in 1961, Gayle married her sweetheart, Wayne Allen Locke, on July 1 of the same year in Phillipsburg, Ohio. In their marriage, Gayle embraced her role as a homemaker with passion and creativity.
Gayle, along with her husband, found much joy in their loving children and their spouses: Lisa & Richard Weber of Cypress, California, Andrew Locke of Dayton, Linda & Jerry Black of Union, and Lanette & Joel Jackson of Troy. The joy of her life extended to her grandchildren: Matthew & Katie Turner, Jacob Weber, Olivia Weber, Forrest & Kaitlyn Black, Sarah & Trey Eustache, Lydia & Patrick Cassidy, Caleb & Sarah Black, Joshua & Isabella Black, Nathan & Emaline Black, Amelia & Noah Hill, Magnolia Black, Ryan Jackson & Kinsey Van Deynze, Abigail & Will Ray, and her cherished great-grandchildren: Haley, Riley, Maverick, Lillian, Felicity, Madok, and Cordelia; and her brother and sister-in-law, Roger & Nancy Long of Pitsburg.
Gayle devoted her life to her Christian faith and was a former member of Community Grace Brethren Church. Her interests were a reflection of her faith-filled and creative spirit. She enjoyed gardening, lending her voice to the church choir, teaching Sunday school, reading her Bible, and listening to Christian radio. Her love for antiques, health, nutrition, cooking, sewing, and the arts further showcased her talents and creativity.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Gayle will remember her as a loving and caring individual whose life was grounded in faith. She was a source of support and prayer for her family, always seeking God's guidance in all aspects of her life, leaving a legacy of unwavering faith.
