George Harold Adkins, age 87, of Tipp City, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 16, 1938 to Johnie Linville & Edna Lee (Morris) Adkins in Greenup, Kentucky.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Lana Sharp; grandson Tyler Sharp; siblings Clyde (Ruth) Adkins, Oscar (Iona) Adkins, Flora (Clive) Chaffins, Jack (Eldean) Adkins, Randy Adkins, David Adkins, and Doug Adkins.
He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife Jenny Lee (Jones) Adkins of 41 years; children Lisa (Tony) Vanchure of Tipp City, and Greg (Sarah) Adkins of Tipp City; grandchildren Tyler, Leah, Georgia, Sam, Megan, Ashley, Chris; 6 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Carolyn Adkins.
George served his country proudly in the United States Army. He also served 57 years as a volunteer with the Miami County Sheriff Department. George was the owner and operator of ADCO Products for 45 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Troy Fish & Game, American Legion Post 586 in Tipp City, and the Miami County FOP Lodge 58. George loved going boating, fishing, and hunting. He enjoyed his time at Lake Cumberland with family and friends and treasured his time with his children and grandchildren. George always had a willingness to help others and was known for his sense of humor.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 20, 2025 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City. The family will receive friends from 2-6 PM on Sunday, October 19 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Everheart Hospice or Miami County FOP Lodge 58.
