George “Doug” Riley, age 74, of Laura, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024 at Hospice of Miami County. He was born November 19, 1949 to George Riley & Mable Earleen (Crider) Gainey in Harlan, Kentucky.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings John Riley and Cathy Worman.
He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife Nancy Booher of 42 years; children Lisa Manning, Charlene “Sherry” Cavanaugh, Ernie Booher, Heather (Mario) Oliveira, and Penny (Mark) Manis; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; siblings Ray (Connie) Riley, Wanda Cates, Sue (Dale) Gibson.
Doug was President of the men’s auxiliary for VFW post 8211 for many years. He was a Brick Mason for many years. Then was a security guard at Honda until he retired. He loved fishing, hunting, and anything outdoors.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, July 8, 2024 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Lewisburg. The family will receive friends from 2-5 PM on Sunday, July 7 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County.
