Glenda Mae Thompson

Age 88, of Union, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022, at her home. She was born July 1, 1934, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, to her parents Warren Lesley & Marta Margaret ( Hopton) Byrne. Glenda graduated from Troy High School. She was a member of the United Church of Christ and a member of the Piqua Lewis Boyer DAR. She was active with the DAR for over 44 years and served as a past member of the Regent DAR Greenville and a past DAR state officer and national chairman.

She will be missed and remembered by her loving husband Harold Lee Thompson; children and their spouses Dennis Thompson of Union, Steven & Cindy Thompson of Forest, Virginia, Kathleen & Gary Shambaugh of Urbana; sisters-in-law Barbara Davis of Piqua, Pamela & Bob Anspach of Piqua; 6 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren; 4 step great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law Sharon Thompson; sister-in-law Patricia Applegate. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, January 5, at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami Street, West Milton, with interment following at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Senior Citizens at Earl Heck Community Center, 201 N.
