Gloria J McDowell

Gloria Jean McDowell of Troy, Ohio was born April 27, 1943 in Dayton, Ohio. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 14, 2025.

She is survived by her daughter Kim Welch(Jon) Columbia City IN; sons Randy Johnson Pinellas Park, FL, and Shane McDowell Troy, OH; Daughter in law Sandra Johnson; grandchildren: Joshua Welch, Candace Sharp(James), Nathan Welch(Ali), Melissa Welch, Cody Stemley(Megan), Corey Hartley(Jarred); 14 Great grandchildren; sisters Elaine Oliver, Kathy(Bob) Stringer, Candy (Lon) Vietz; former spouse Roy McDowell; best friend Al Lupton.

She is preceded in death by her parents Evelyn (Hall) and Dean Werts; Sisters Judith Shellenberger, Deane Janis Puterbaugh; brother in laws John “Jack” Puterbaugh, Wayne Shellenberger, Chet Oliver; former spouse: Kenneth R. Johnson; sons: Joey Johnson, Kenneth Dean Johnson.

Gloria loved her family. She would always make anyone feel at home and help out whenever she could. She was very friendly and could always make you laugh. She attended Milton-Union High School. Gloria worked for General Motors for 30 years. She loved playing bingo and watching sports on TV.  She enjoyed her times at Lake Cumberland, KY.  

A Memorial Service will be held by the family on Friday, May 30, 2025, 7pm at Potsdam Church of the Brethren, Potsdam, Ohio. Arrangements are in care of Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, West Milton. Online memories of Gloria may be left for the family at www.hale-sarver.com
