Herbert E. “Butch” Hildebrand of Arcanum, age 76, passed away on January 3, 2021 at Stonespring of Vandalia. He was born on July 13, 1944 in Ludlow Falls, Ohio to the late Herbert E. and Pauline (Dearth) Hildebrand. Following his education, Butch worked as a barber and also for Hobart Brothers for several years. He went on to work for and eventually retire from General Motors/Delphi. Butch loved fishing, hunting, vacationing in Sarasota, Florida, youth coaching, and watching football. Butch was preceded in death by his parents & siblings Harriet Lambert-Hildebrand and Judith Manning. He is survived by his loving wife Gayle N. (Lavey) Hildebrand; son Thomas (Holly) Hildebrand of Arcanum & their children Jessica (Josh) Brandon and Allison Hildebrand; daughter Christina (Chad) Fritz of Simpsonville, SC & their children Brittany, Connor, Abbigayle, and Caden Fritz; & son Stephen (Jenny Kwolek) Hildebrand of Beavercreek & their children Cory Kwolek and Whitney and Aaden Hildebrand. Also surviving is one great-grandchild, Makena Brandon. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton, with burial following at Riverside Cemetery, West Milton. The family will receive friends from 11AM – 1PM at the funeral home prior to services.
