Herbert E. Longman, Sr.

Herbert E. Longman, Sr. of Laura, age 90, passed away on December 9, 2018.  Herbert was born on March 9, 1928 in Brookville, Ohio to the late David and Ada (Boose) Longman.  Herbert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Katurale A. (Young) Longman; and brothers Glen Longman, Herman Longman, Chester Longman, and Robert (Bobby) Longman.  He is survived by his sons Herbert (Linda) Longman of Largo, Florida and Mark (Nancy) Longman of Brookville; 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; and brother Kenneth Neal.  Herbert was formerly a Union Township employee and Fireman for the town of Laura, and retired from Standard Register in Dayton after many years of service there.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton, with services beginning at 11:00 AM.  Burial will follow at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens, Brookville. The family will host a luncheon for family and friends at the Hale House, West Milton following burial.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County in Herbert’s honor.  Memories and condolences may be left for the family online at www.hale-sarver.com.
