Jeffrey "Jeff" Stephen Mitrisin

Jeffrey Stephen Mitrisin, age 65, of Arcanum, OH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County. Jeff was born on May 10, 1960, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Stephen and Laverne (Pearl) Mitrisin.

He is survived by his devoted wife Susie Mitrisin of Arcanum; his son and daughter-in-law Christopher M. and Andrea M. Gerhart; granddaughter Gracie Gerhart all of Union, OH; his sister Stephanie L. Mitrisin of Troy, OH; his aunt Loretta Sowinski of Scottdale, PA; stepdaughters Elaina & Drew Ingraham of Oxford, MS, and Katie Jenkins & fiancé Tony SanFillipo of Arcanum; grandchildren Avery and Zeke Ingraham, Easton and Kixton Jenkins. He is also survived by many dear cousins and friends.

Jeff graduated from Chaminade Julienne High School and went on to attend the Sinclair Community College Police Academy. He proudly served the community as a member of the Trotwood Police Department for 25 years including time as an Evidence Technician, before retiring from service. He was a member of the VFW in Greenville, OH. Jeff will be remembered for his love of travel, his passion for golf and grilling, and above all, for the joy he found in spending time with his family, friends, and extended “Sloopy’s Family.”

A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held from 2-4 PM on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at the Hale House Event Center, 320 N. Miami St., West Milton (adjacent the parking lot to Hale-Sarver FH) with a time of remembrance beginning at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County.
