Jerry Hilliard Acton

Jerry H. Acton of West Milton, age 93, passed  away on December 10, 2022 at Hospice of Miami County. Jerry was born on January 17, 1929 in Liberty, Nebraska to the late Robert Acton and Aileen Hilliard. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by grandson Benjamin Batty, great-grandson Ezra Batty, and siblings Joan Brandt, Sharon Cica, and Lawrence Acton. Jerry is survived by his loving wife Ann (Lowry) Acton; children  Nikki (Thomas) Batty of Tipp City, Shelley (Brian Aleslagle) Brown of Kettering, Mark (Debra) Acton of Pleasant Hill, Brent (Sheryl) Acton of Cincinnati, and William R. Acton of Worthington; 17 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Jerry was an early member of the West Milton Baptist Church and served as a pastor for over 20 years. He loved gardening, art, farming, home restoration, reading the Bible and leading people to the Lord.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton, with a funeral service beginning at 6 PM.  Private family graveside services will be held at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, New Carlisle.  Memorial contributions may be made in Jerry’s honor to Hospice of Miami County.
