John Ray Edwards

Age 72, of Troy, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at Koester Pavilion. He was born June 5, 1944, in Darke County, Ohio, to his parents Raymond Elwood & Mildred Virginia (Marshall) Edwards. He graduated from Ansonia High School class of 1962. On August 24, 1963, he married Elsie Louise Bailey and together they raised their family and shared a life for over 53 years. John retired from BF Goodrich/United Technologies in Troy after 40+ years. He was a member of the Riverside R/C Hawks in Piqua and was a R/C model and HO scale train enthusiast. He enjoyed home remodeling, playing pool and corn hole, racing go carts, and spending time in the outdoors. He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife Louise Edwards; children and their spouses Terry & Carol Edwards of Houston, Tonya & Bryan Snapp of Troy, Tina & Mark Bunger of Potsdam, Tim & Carrie Edwards of Minster; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; siblings and their spouses Beverly Holesapple of Versailles, Tom Edwards of Celina, Shelba & Ron Brown of Oklahoma, Jack Edwards of Ansonia, Dean & Mary Jane Edwards of Ansonia, Ron & Marianna Edwards of Bradford, Bill & Regina Edwards of Beamsville; brother-in-law John Marshal. He was preceded in death by his sister Connie Marshal and brother-in-law Sam Holesapple. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, January 30, at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 1 S. Main Street, Pleasant Hill, with interment following at Miami Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1-4 PM Sunday at the funeral home. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County or Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall, 3967 Washington Rd, Covington, OH 45318.
