John P. Ferguson

Age 76, of Pleasant Hill, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017, at his home. He was born August 27, 1940, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, to his parents Charles & Goldie (Bucy) Ferguson. John graduated from Waverly High School. He was a member of the First Brethren Church of Pleasant Hill. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid Reds and Ohio State fan. He was a longtime president of the Newton Baseball Boosters.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 29 years Kathryn (Stephens) Ferguson; siblings Junior Ferguson, Martha Cline, Jane Pope, Sarah Vest, Don Ferguson.

He will be missed and remembered by his children and their spouses Sarah & Tony Rehmert of Vandalia, Matthew Ferguson of West Chester, John Jr. & Christine Ferguson of Hilliard, Gary & Lisa Ferguson of Piketon; grandchildren Jill, Freddie, Paul, Courtney, Corey, Payton; great grandson Jonathon.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, March 6, at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 1 S. Main Street, Pleasant Hill. Pastor Lynn Mercer will officiate with interment following at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM Monday at the funeral home.
