John T. Ruf
Age 73, of Dayton, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023, at his home. He was born November 29, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio, to his parents Charles & Wanda (Trent) Ruf. He graduated from Chaminade High School class of 1969 and later earned his associates degree in business from the University of Dayton.
On October 11, 1980, he married Marcia Klos in Dayton, and together they shared a life for over 42 years. John retired from General Motors after 32 years of service. He was a member of the Vandalia American Legion Post 669, AMVETS Post 99, and the Vandalia VFW 9582 where his served as treasurer.
He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife Marcia (Klos) Ruf; daughter and son-in-law Michelle & Jeremy Chaney of Winter Haven, Florida; sisters and brother-in-law Mary Ruf & Craig Britton Germantown, Anne Ruf of Lewisburg; grandchildren Zachary Falls and Riley Stephenson; brother and sister-in-law Edward & Linda Ruf of Laura; sisters-in-law Debbie Ruf and Linda Treitsch; siblings-in-law Ralph & Maryann Klos of Laura and Mike & Misty Klos of Dayton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Marsha Sell, Benjamin Ruf, Mark Ruf, Dan Ruf; sister-in-law Stephanie Klos.
Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Tipp City. A celebration of John’s life will bend from 1-4 PM on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at the AMVETS Post 99, 1123 S. Brown School Road, Vandalia, OH 45377.
