Karann Faith Whittelsey, age 74, of Butler Township, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023 at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born July 25, 1949 to Harvey Lutz & Ruth Iona (Cain) Fetters in Troy, Ohio.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter Debra Lakes; siblings Harvey Fetters, Roger Fetters, Kenneth Fetters, and Norma Joan Weikert.
She will be missed and remembered by her loving husband Richard “Rick” G. Whittelsey of 43 years; children Chrystal (Ken) Hall of Stockbridge, GA, and Jonathan (Katie) Whittelsey of Vandalia; son-in-law Josh Lakes of Cape Coral, FL; grandchildren Josh, Lauren, Asa, Stephen Hall, Xavier Lakes, Tyler and Cora Whittelsey; sisters-in-law Judy Fetters of Laura, Pamela (Richard) Sjostrom of Salt Lake City, UT; brothers-in-law Ronald Weikert of Jacksonville, FL, and Randy (Judy) Whittelsey of Erie, PA; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
Karann was 1967 Milton-Union High School graduate then went on to The Ohio State University for art. She was a member of the American Legion Post 668 Women’s Auxiliary in Vandalia. Karann retired from insurance sales with American National/Whittelsey Insurance after 30 years of service. After retirement, she started “Stacked Glass” to enjoy her artistic passion and going to art shows to sell her creations. She loved to keep a beautiful flower landscaping at their home. She enjoyed the camaraderie and exercise with her many Zumba friends. Karann loved traveling with her husband, Rick. They enjoyed several European Viking cruise trips as well as visiting family and friends across the country. One highlight was a 10-day stay at a Villa in Tuscany along with some HS classmates.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton and on Monday, October 16 from 10-11 AM with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post 668 Women’s Auxiliary or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
